ANDRITZ Kaiser makes a strong showing at CIHC 2026, unveiling a new breakthrough in high-speed stamping technology for metal bipolar plates.
March 25-27, 2026, Beijing – ANDRITZ Kaiser GmbH (ANDRITZ Kaiser), a specialist in high-end stamping and forming technology, presented at the 2026 China International Hydrogen Congress and Exhibition (CIHC 2026), held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, at Booth A143. Themed "Towards New and Green, for Shared Success," the event is a major hydrogen industry gathering in the opening year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period, bringing together major companies and professionals from the global hydrogen value chain.

ANDRITZ Kaiser is a system supplier to the metal stamping and forming industry, delivering complete stamping and metal forming solutions based on advanced technology. The company stands for high quality in metal forming, and decades of experience in automated presses and metal forming machinery allow it to meet customer requirements for precision, productivity and reliability. In the production of metal bipolar plates for the hydrogen industry — in both stainless steel and titanium — ANDRITZ Kaiser has already supplied multiple production systems to several major hydrogen companies, accumulating extensive experience in progressive die processes for bipolar plate manufacturing.
High-Speed Precision Stamping for Metal Bipolar Plates
At the exhibition, ANDRITZ Kaiser highlighted its TOP-LINE KSH2 press, developed specifically for the hydrogen industry as a high-speed precision stamping system for metal bipolar plates. The press integrates the press itself, feeding, transfer, lubrication, tooling, stacking and process monitoring into a single system, delivering outstanding operating performance and economic efficiency. Its distinctive design is inspired by well-proven natural bionic structures.
Technology Leadership
Technological breakthrough is the core of ANDRITZ Kaiser's competitiveness. The TOP-LINE KSH2 series, developed specifically for the hydrogen industry, combines high rigidity with exceptional precision at high dynamic speeds. It successfully overcomes the process challenges of high-speed stamping for ultra-thin stainless steel or titanium bipolar plates less than 0.1 mm thick, achieving production speeds of up to 60 plates per minute — above the industry average. Notably, the company's first metal bipolar plate press line in China passed its customer acceptance test in late March 2025 and went into operation in mid-April of the same year, marking an important milestone for the technology in the Chinese market.
Integrated Stamping and Laser Welding Lines
ANDRITZ Kaiser provides not only high-performance presses but also efficient integrated production line solutions. Working closely with ANDRITZ Soutec, the laser welding specialist within the ANDRITZ Group, the company has built a continuous stamping and welding line for metal bipolar plates that produces a stable 60 plates per minute with a high qualification rate — an industry-leading level of mass production efficiency for metal bipolar plates.
Looking Ahead
As China enters a new stage of high-quality development under the 15th Five-Year Plan and the hydrogen industry moves towards large-scale commercialisation, ANDRITZ Kaiser used this exhibition to further demonstrate its technological strength and strategic positioning in hydrogen equipment manufacturing. The company will continue to deepen its commitment to the Chinese market, supporting the high-quality development of China's hydrogen industry with efficient, high-precision and highly stable solutions, and contributing German manufacturing expertise to the global energy transition.
